Well boys, the problem was found. The "mechanic" never tightened down the cam sprocket on the right bank, so the nut backed off, the pin popped out and all the valves on that side crashed.

We are leaning toward not splitting the cases. The car has a total of 90k on it and this is a second engine (Porsche warranteed the original).

All the bores look clean with a a good cross hatch pattern and no visible pitting. i will be borrowing bore gauges this week to check for ovaling.

I will be in need of 6 rockers, 3 intake and 3 exhaust valves. What do you think the chances are that the valve guides will be ok after crashing the valves?
