We have a Howard Miller Focal Point clock that belongs to my Mom. My Father, who passed last December, purchased it but Mom never really cared for it. I was going to throw it up on Craigs list but after a brief internet search I discovered these things are pretty spendy new. Like $9K spendy... My wife and I think it's ugly as hell but that is beside the point.
So the clock needs a tune up, after being moved a couple times it stopped working and sat in storage. Local clock shop quoted us $550 for the tune up and cleaning...wow. So my questions
- Recommendations on how to market and sell this thing?
- Should we pay for the tune up prior to selling? I'm thinking no, if it gets shipped to new seller it might need to get re-adjusted anyway.
- Price. New on Amazon they are $9K, so what is the used value for something like this? $5K or $5?
Edit - here is a used example I just found while writing this post.

I figure there must be someone here who knows folks that deal with stuff like this. Many thanks for your thoughts, good or bad
