If there are no build or type #'s on the case bosses, and no engine serial, but just the mating numbers then I would assume it is a replacement case. In that event you need to show us what everything looks like to help determine what might be in the case.
When was it last running? When was it last rebuilt? Really, without a complete disassemble there is no way of knowing what is in there.
