LinkedIn, requests and a pretty face
I'm on LinkedIn. I am not terribly active on it, but i do have a group of friends and colleagues from current and past jobs. I accept the occasional request from head hunters or people in my industry that are indirectly known to me. I don't post or share things. I do "network" by occasionally messaging someone that I don't often see if it's an event of some sort.
I understand getting unsolicited requests from other folks in the same industry, especially if they are "linked" to people that I am linked to. I also understand head hunters. What seems a little weird to me are the women that have nothing to do with my industry or geographic area or head hunting or anything that seems remotely related trying to link. Especially since many/most that I run into have head shots or selfie style shots where they look fairly attractive or maybe even hot. Surely they aren't hookers looking for work. So what is the point? I guess they are just social media butterfly, attention whores that have filled up their facebook, instagram and snapchat friend lists and are now branching out?
Anyone got a better idea or have noticed the same?
