Thanks everyone. I spent the day scrubbing with a medium brush and Simple Green. SG does a great job of removing the dirt and grime. The red paint on this thing is very, very soft. It comes off extremely easily. Unless I can get about 1/8" coat of polyurethane all over it, I just don't see how the red paint won't continue to peel off.
Gonna let it dry in the sun for a few days then attack it with the sealer.
