73 MFI drive then stall while driving.
Hi everybody, as many on the forum know, my car is being serviced and tuned up by me, since last mechanic years ago touched what he shouldn't have.
Now, i am on the final stretcht of my tune up, walking through a complete CMA for 2nd time since engine overhaul (500km ago/ 5 years), and something wired happened.
I had to change both tank to body fuel lines because they were broke and loosing fuel, hoses changed, and everything ready for a test ride.
Changed the rotor for a brand new 6500RPM rev limited, and then started the car, took some cranking time, but she will fire.
Went for some fast turns around the block and everything was going well meanwhile the car was waning up propertly. Stopped for a refueling, drove for 5 blocks, stoped at a light, started to move, 20mts and the car died. Tried to start again, and nothing happens it will not start.
Opened the hood, checked all the cables, nothing went loose, i always carry a spare rotor just in case, so i removed the newly installed rev limited 6500RPM rotor and installed the old classic regular bosch rotor. Tried to start, and she started right away.
It's proper to mention i have an original Bosch CDI working and whistling, but removed the points and installed a pertronix replacement long time ago. All the spark plugs are brand new. The coil is an MSD high vibrance coil epoxy filled, and also brand new. The ignition cables are new enough (2 years old and only 100km on them).
Any ideas where the problem can be coming from?
I have a spare fuel filter, just in case. But based in my experience, the problem is coming from something electrical, and not mechanical, what do you think??
Thanks a lot!
Ariel
