I agree on the bloated "small pickups". My Dad has a GMC Canyon and it's only 2 inches shorter than my Silverado. The whole reason Ford got rid of the Ranger is because it was detracting from F-150 sales. Now they are bringing back the Ranger, but bigger and closer to the size of an F-150. That makes no sense.
I do know that GM makes tons of dough selling the Colorado/Canyon to governments and as well as overseas. In my town they make up almost all the municipal work vehicles for parks and utilities. Ford probably sees that they are missing out on those sales.
