A: 2002 996 C4 Cabrio. 65000 miles, last driven early June 2017
2) Did your car experience either an IMS or cylinder-scoring-related engine failure?
A: Did all preventive work; IMS, RMS, AOS, Water Pump, Plugs and Coils in 2016
2a) Did the failure occur on a racetrack?
A: Cylinder wall cracked on a 25 mile trip. As I was exiting the freeway, car miss-fired and got it towed to the mechanic, he found the crack on the cylinder head.
2b) What was the nature of the failure?
A: Cracked cylinder head (#3)
3) What oil is/was used in the car?
A: Very regular oil changes, always used Mobile 1
4) Did/does the car have a LN engineering spin-on oil filter, or the stock oil filter?
A: Stock oil filter
4a) If the filter was a spin-on, did/does the car also have the extra magnetic strip installed?
A: N/A
5) Did/does the car have a magnetic oil drain plug?
A: had a magnetic drain plug, no metal shavings detected in the prior oil change (3 weeks before the failure).
6) Did/does the car have a 3rd radiator installed?
A: All stock
7) Did/does the car have a low-temp thermometer installed?
A: All stock
