Just picked up a '89 C4. Definitely needs to be lowered a bit. Currently has old tires on stock D90 wheels. Since I need new tires, this is the time to look at 17" wheels.
Any recommendations for 17" wheels, either aftermarket or from later 911s, that won't break the bank? Not interested in "directional" wheels like the popular turbo twists.

While I'm wearing my newbie hat, what are the widest tires to work well on a C4? Would like to dial out some understeer by reducing the stagger front to back.
