Was at a neighbor's (bachelor) BBQ today...he owns a split level house (is that what they're called?), basement, main floor, and an "upstairs".
Anyway, he just told us that he lives on his main floor, basement is for storage, and he never turns on his A/C...only uses fans house-wide.
Main floor temp today - 86'
Upstairs temp today - 94'
"Approximately $40 - $50/month utility bill".
In this heat, my bill is a little over $300.

He comes across as fairly sane, but yeah, he's known to be a might frugal.
