A stock VW type 4 engine designed in the 1960s is a LONG way from a 944 engine designed in the 1970s by Porsche. I guess the 944 had the "sport Audi truck engine" but Porsche figured out a few things. I am sure the 914 racers have a cure for the oiling problems. Mostly run a 6 cylinder 911 engine
