I've had two and love them.
It's a perfect blend of a smoker and a regular grill.
It has a great method of adding additional fire without opening the lid, and overall good temp control. Not a good as a pellet grill where you can set the temp and forget about it, but a pellet grill can't be used for searing.
I grill year round and unfortunately burned up two Hasty Bakes (each lasted about ten years), and thought I'd just get a charcoal Weber for searing. I've now decided that I'm going back to another Hasty Bake.
