Thoughts and opinions on Fernando's possible choices for 2018?
I have heard everything from '
confirmed IndyCar ride' to a seat at Ferrari or Mercedes (although there was a recent story in Autoweek that nixed those choices.) Renault is a possible choice as is Force India, but I think that would be a side step rather than a step up.
I would like to see Fernando stay at McLaren for 2018. I have a feeling, ok just a hope, that in 2018 the Honda power unit will be competitive. The current McLaren chassis seems to be a very good car that is stifled by a power unit not up the the competition. Honda has forgone the size zero engine design and reset with a design that I have heard is similar to Mercedes. With a little luck and tweaks in design, I feel it will be the winning power unit in 2018. JMHO
