What is annoying to me (I don't know that I've every wanted to rant about it though) is when I go to pump gas and the pump asks if I want to buy a soft drink or add the fuel cleaner: yes/no.

Around here it is a "do you want to add a car wash?".
Yes, the TV at the pump is annoying but I just ignore it (or wash my windows) much more annoying things in this world to worry about IMHO.

He is in Oregon, there are no self serve gas stations there, IIRC they claim it is a safety issue but with 3/4 of the rest of the world pumping their own gas I don't see the point.
