When I started having trouble with my vision I kept the lights pretty much off. Only very minimal. It helped because my left eye was darker than my right eye with all the blood in it. Being darker the floaters etc were also less bothersome. Now that most all the blood is gone from my left eye (still have cadillac) I need more light than is available just to see. Lighting was never an issue before this eye thing started.
