^ I don't think this issue is unique to the Miele brand. The crappy drying "feature" I believe is something all of the energy saving models have (which is true of just about every brand at the higher end of their range). We had a brand new LG in the house we sold recently. Same deal...no heating element in the drying process. As you point out, its the drinking glasses and coffee mugs that are the problem as they trap water.
