Our maybe 12 years old kitchenaid is still going strong with no problems. Probably not comparable to new ones?
It's Cindy's kitchen...I don't mess with it. If she doesn't have a complaint, neither do I. If she does have a complaint, then I hear about it. 
(edit) Cindy looked it up. We bought in June of '07.
