I disagree. there was a period when people were paying far too much just because it was a 3.6T or an early S. Condition was overlooked. I can site cases of people paying double market value for PTS cars that ended up being *****. If you followed the market closely it is finally settled out and people are seeing the value of the individual car vs the model.
