Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Copy,

Sounds like a GREAT day. All my stuff has been fixed wing with very little rotor time. I did get a chance to fly a feedback sim at the expo. My time was acceptable for a noob but probably laughable to you. Well, I should say acceptable until I brought it into a hover over the pad and lost my lift............sank like a rock at 30' as the controls went all mushy. "Settling with power"?? I think is what it's called. Got the blue screen of literal death. Even though it was a realistic sim, not a good feeling and wanted to go soak my head in the toilet. Was very cool up until that point. Felt real as hell, especially with three 65" monitors. The fully loaded simulator was very spendy at the tune of over 100K.

There was some very BA radar units there too. Actually discussed the type you were flying on the Bell for the underground lines. Tech is getting unbelievable too with their units that could pinpoint people lost in the ocean bobbing around on the surface. Only takes a butt load of $$$$.
