My system has 3 door sensors and two motion sensors. It covers all possible points of entry with fewer sensors. Motion sensing was no big deal for me since I don't have, and probably won't ever have, pets that would wander the house at night. More window sensors was no problem if I'd wanted them. The deal was a complete, homeowner approved, system. No charge.

As far as monitoring fees go, I was required to sign up for two years of monitoring at $32 per month. A small price for my wife's piece of mind. She had been wanting a security system ever since we built the house since I occasionally travel for work. Little did I know the answer would literally come walking down the street.
