That's key. If you try to go full denial, you're almost certainly setting yourself up to fail because eventually you're likely to say "screw that, I want XXX", and once you do, you'll not go back to the plan to deny yourself. Much better to minimize the really bad stuff, but assume that you will "treat" yourself occasionally.
