Last weekend I go to the Comcast store front to turn in their crap, remote, router, etc. The early termination fee is back in play. I ask the person at the counter about it and she informs me that she cannot help, they are just there to issue remotes and take them back. Nice.

She then informs me that I am missing a converter box thing for turn in. I ask her what it looks like so that I can then go find it to turn in. She just holds up her hands and makes a box with her fingers and says it is this big. I've been back twice with things that are 'this big' and not taken the right thing. They suck.
Had a similar issue after my father passed.

Due to an ex-wife that intentionally and maliciously had rung up a few hundred K in CC debt in his name he'd had to do a refi on the house.

So I'm paying the mortgage and trying to sell the house.

Since the refi was relatively new it was all interest, the principal was not moving meaning every payment was reducing the payout on the house. So I decide screw it and stop paying it. After a couple of months they'd start getting nasty threatening foreclosure and I'd pay the minimum required to keep them at bay.

Whenever they would call we'd go through the whole, "no you can't speak with him, he's dead and I'm the party legally authorized to speak with you" routine.

Eventually they'd say, "well, this is really going to hurt his credit rating" I'd lol and remind them "trust me. he doesn't care, HE'S DEAD, take your best shot"

Anyway, moral of the story, unless you are somehow legally obligated to assume his debt I'd call them and tell them, "we are done, take your fees and stick em, If you want to continue chasing it here's where you can find him".

Then give them the address and phone number of the cemetery.
