I'm just getting over it. I play golf every day and tennis elbow flared up badly last January (yes, tennis elbow, not golfers elbow). I've been dealing with it for over eight months. Went to an ortho early and he refused to do a cortisone injection. He said cortisone will make it feel better for a couple months, but is guaranteed to come back worse. The only real therapy is rest, rest, rest...accompanied with ice, strengthening exercises, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds.

I bought a tennis elbow strap, the kind with the compression pad. I started stretching and the usual strengthening eexercises (Google it. There's some good ones) and took Celebrex. I wore the strap daily and just kept playing through it. After about six months I noticed it was feeling a little better. Last month I started playing without the strap. Now it's almost gone.

Most of the guys I play golf with have had it. Six to eight months seems to be the typical timeframe. Only one guy required surgery.

If you do the work, and avoid things that irritate it, you'll get through it too.
