...and that's why I love coming here. Great discussions.
All good ideas, and I like them.
Seahawk - yes, an engineer. I am working on cleaning the space up - as I have one less thing to work around right now.
Baron - yup. You're pretttyyyy close. Not quite, but definitely pretty warm.
Wildthing - yes, it would be sacrilege to post here with a teaser and go in some oddball direction.
Now - regarding the other suggestions made here:
the retro 4X4 thing is a good idea. but... this is WI. Finding a decent jeepster, IH Scout, Bronco or similar are basically impossible. We use so much salt that any of those in the midwest need to be imported from somewhere dry.
I'm really pretty intent on something with a rear engine. I've tried a "fun" car as a DD, and didn't work out. I like to separate my transportation from fun.
Regarding the Polestar and MB and various other options - I've been contemplating something like that, but really like the purity of a dedicated fun car.
For the DD - a 2011 subaru outback covers the utilitarian aspect of my needs. Racked out for the bicycles, works in winter, can park it and not worry about it, and it's super reliable.
So.....
I found a beautiful 2003 C4S that I am awaiting a delivery appointment. Bad week to make a car purchase decision as all the haulers are sitting, twiddling their thumbs at Monterrey.
Hoping that I get my grubby mitts on it within a couple weeks.
My daughter really wants to be dropped off on her first day of school in the new ride.
Will post (my own) pics when she arrives.
How does that sit with the Pelican collective?
Happy Sunday.
