I have a 1999 Range Rover Callaway edition and I love it--it's been surprisingly reliable, except for the issues that were present when I bought it. I also paid $6500 for it. I personally love the look, hate the engineering and climate control design. I also have a 1991 Mitsubishi Montero. I would take the montero over the RR any day of the week.
As for the best RR? I'm not sure, but do like the 2012 RR sport. Drove one a couple months back for fun, and I did like it. However, I'll be glad when I get my RR a new owner, even though it is in good shape, and has given me little hassle.
