So I'm still confused. My 84 nonturbo 944 flywheel had only a groove I'll call it, and the screwed in peg also shown in your picture. Nothing else. With the screwed in peg pointing straight down at 6 o'clock for installing the bell housing, the groove I marked with paint is at about 3 o'clock.
There is no "OT" lettering on my flywheel. I used a bright light to inspect my flywheel while it was in my hands a few days ago.
I'll soon be using this mark to time my engine, so I would appreciate any thoughts or insights - is this my TDC mark, and where should the mark be at TDC?
