So I was unimpressed to find the K&N premium oil filter I bought online didn't come with a new aluminum crush washer.

I flipped the old one over, and reused it. Now have a leak from oil drain plug, dripping same day onto garage floor.

I had torque plug to recommended value, and have since tightened 1/4-1/2 turn more to see if I could get leak to stop. No luck, still leaking.

Thought - am I condemned to draining all of the new oil and fitting another drain washer? Anyone vote for further tightening the plug to see if I can get leak to stop? If I do drain, thoughts on putting the drained oil back in motor?
