I was a kid in the '70s and a teenager in the '80s but I fell in love with Porsches in the '70s long before I could drive or own one. I remember all the controversy over the watercooled cars but I still really liked the 924 and 928. I'll always love the 911s but when the 924 was reintroduced to the US market in '87 I wanted one, maybe even a little more than the 944 (which I also love).
I'd love to have a clean one today, just don't have the room.
