you have to realize a few things. First off, this board is unlike pretty much every other bbs out there. For a variety of reasons, some of which I can't quite figure out. Second, the 911 is unlike any other car out there. Numbers don't matter...opinions of non-owners don't matter...the march of time and technology doesn't matter. The 911 is an icon and transcends being "just a car." That is not the case with a Prelude. For the Honda owner that poo-poos the 911 as "old and slow", "glorified vw", etc...well, they just don't get it. And most of them never will.
I actually didn't think your post was *total* troll bait...I figured there was some sarcasm in your prose (or at least gave you the benefit of the doubt...my colleague Island is less indulgent, although probably closer to the mark). My wife used to drive a Prelude (uh oh...did I just call it a chick car?), and although I didn't fit in it (not enough headroom), it was a fun fast car. But that was about it. Yet another disposable piece of Japanese engineering. Performance, a touch of style, very little soul.
btw, the SC redlines at 6300, so I don't know how you compared the two cars at 7500rpm. V-tec is cool, but between the two cars in the twisties at 6K? I'll take air-cooled thank you.
