So good news and bad news....good news- my lung did not collapse. So no chest tube, yayyyy!
Bad news- the area of my lung that the radiologist initially thought was a collapsed lung is actually an area of lung that has died and has increased in both size and pain is called a "Bullea".
The change in my lung is not critical, acute, or need the ICU. Neither surgery or a chest tube will help my situation. This unfortunately is my new normal. I need a transplant. I've needed one for a really long time now. We are constantly pushing to try and make the process faster. Hopefully with this decline and need for more oxygen, it will increase my score on the list.
I am admitted and will stay over night for observation and then go home in the morning.
Sorry for the scare. I was scared myself. Sadly, this is the end-stages of CF so I just have to continue to push through life, make the best out of the hand of cards I was dealt, try to hold on to hope and continue to see the beauty and the happiness in the world.
Thank you everyone for all your love and support!!!
**Attached are 2 CT scans of my lungs. One was taken today, the other was from July. The X-Ray is from today as well. You can see the decline just from a few weeks can make. news....good news- my lung did not collapse. So no chest tube, yayyyy!
