95% of the Country's Building Are Gone! Run!!". Of course, they left out a couple of minor details - the buildings were mostly substandard shacks and the "country" is a tiny island in the middle of the ocean. Not exactly a good predictor of what might happen to well-built buildings on a large land mass
Buildings in Florida are designed for wind speeds of 120MPH in the north to 180MPH in the south. Most of the damage is to either older substandard buildings or flimsy manufactured homes.
