I saw a presentation from the Honda design engineers around about 10 yrs ago and they seemed very proud of the fact it designed in and being built from carbon fibre.

I think carbon fiber was first used in a serious way on an aircraft when Beech built the Starship, starting in the mid-1980s. It was not a jet, but a turboprop, and a pretty comfortable plane to fly in. It's about 100 knots down on speed compared to the Honda, but it's bigger inside and has a better range. I have a friend that still flies one, it's not a bad way to get from point A to point B.
