Thanks for all the feedback. History - water and remaining oil sat in the bottom end for what appears to be a very long time. I sourced it for the crank which measured absolutely perfect; hatch marks could still easily be seen on the cylinder walls that hadnt corroded. My guess is the car was wrecked early in life and abandoned.
