CBC News - "The National" a few nights ago said 40% of the people on Cape Cod - Martha's Vineyard had been affected by Lyme disease. Scientists want to release tens of thousands genetically modified mice (the carriers that infect the ticks) that are immune to the disease, they got the code from naturally immune mice. It's going to take a few years to breed than many mice, they hope theses traits get passed down to future generations of White-Footed mice once they mix with the local mice population.
