I have to respectfully disagree. Vettel was nearly a full car length ahead of him and Max knew which side of the track that Vettel was going to head for when approaching the corner. All he had to do was back out of the throttle, even partially, for maybe half a second. He wasn't going to win the corner from Vettel, if he tucked in behind him he probably would've been second coming out of the first corner, worst case third.
