I've read with interest the previous threads on "best car for a new driver" and didn't see Toyota as well represented as some others...buying used for sure.

Well this thread was a kiss of death. I'm sitting here waiting for a tow truck as I lost steering. I found the reservoir low after spotting a puddle on the ground. Refilled it but no joy. I guess it's the pump. Sigh
edit: home now and
hoping it's just the pump.
