The registration process is so that you can actually contribute to the charity. If you just want to ride along then simply turn up. You'll see some pretty cool bikes. The one in LA ended up at a some sort of studio where there were a lot of custom bikes on display. Its just like a decent Bike Night but aimed at classic style bikes. Very LA and our newest Troll Borders Reivers would absolutely approve.
