Dude in a batchelor's level MongoDB class is having an issue downloading a simple file to import some data. Mind you, he should already have an AS in either programming or networking. He's posted quite a few times on a discussion, but what did it for me was that he sent me email personally and demanded that I help him.

So I replied to one of his discussion posts with this - what is great is that other than this guy, I've had all of my fellow students as students in my Linux classes that I teach... and they know how I'll reply to demands and idiocy

We are your fellow students, not obligated to help, and you haven't even given us enough information on your issue to actually give you help if we were inclined to do so.

I will recommend reading How to Ask Questions the Smart Way (Links to an external site.).. And then perhaps come back and re-ask for help, giving enough information that someone can actually help you.

And I'm fairly sure our instructor would want you to provide enough information in a question so that she can answer it, instead of asking for the information needed.

And CERTAINLY do not email me directly asking for help. Unless it isn't course work related and you are prepared to pay my hourly consulting rate.
