I should have added that the red jumper from 85 to 86 is not necessary for the inertia sw install. I jumpered it to send power to the air meter contact connector which I then used to supply 12v to my Pierburg valve. The inertia sw mod eliminates two of the most common problems on these cars, the air meter "overboost" relay and the air meter contact.

Also, the air meter "overboost" relay, red or yellow, is a misnomer, it has nothing to do with overboost protection. The boost limit sw located on the intake provides that by opening the ground side of the pump relay coil circuit. The only thing that triggers the air meter "overboost" relay is the air meter contact.

This is on a '79, pretty sure the later years are the same except they added a time delay circuit in the "overboost" relay so they can charge $100+ for a stupid $5 relay. Get a $5 Taurus inertia sw at a pick and pull.
