Me and my neighbors usually just wave, smile, and go about whatever it is we are doing. Talk maybe four or five times a year, not often and usually not long. We all have things to do.

One late evening a little after dark last week both next door neighbors, the neighbors across the street and the 2nd house down on either side came over and talked in my driveway for about 30 minutes. That was a BIG gathering and rarely happens. Was messing in the yard and it got dark on me. Noticed the next door neighbor and asked if he had heard the Great Horned Owl that roosts in the top of my Cottonwood tree. He went in and got his wife, they came over and stood in the driveway to listen. That made the others curious and they all kind of wandered over to see what was going on. Have had Great Horned Owls roosting and hooting at night in that tall cottonwood for almost 20 years. Neighbors on either side had been there since before I moved in and never noticed. Discussed we used to have a few pairs of rabbits that would sit out in the front yards of an evening and now there is only one rabbit. Decided to keep their small pets indoors after dark.

Thought it was interesting because I had a pet Great Horned Owl from when I was 8 until I graduated HS.

So, pretty much back to just smiling and waving.
