Bingo! If I recall correctly, a Corvair air pump was used. The "L" was a USA model only, with "S" appearance package, but not a bit faster than the standard 911. Also, the '68 L car had less power than the '67 S.
But it seems like we were actually there at the time. Today? "Ohhh, it's a longnose and it's air cooled. Let us all kneel and bow towards Stuttgart!"
