Agree.
We have experienced spikes in desirable, emerging desirable cars and their prices over and over. My Father lamented selling many, many cars, some worth significant scooters. The run up is always the same; different brands, much the same underlying causal factors.
I bought a 1974 911S in 2004 for $800.00. Body was in great shape, interior fine, engine had an oil leak and the previous owner had parked the car for over ten years.
That is how I found Pelican. I was going to do the work myself as I had on previous cars. Then time became an issue. It has remained so. I stopped working on cars and paid others to help.
I sold the 911S for $1500 in 2005. I had kids, a farm and a demanding job. I still do.
