I've never owned an M6, but I've owned 4 other M cars from the same era. My experience with BMWs of that vintage is that they tend to nickel and dime you to death. I've never owned an 850, but I've heard nothing but bad things about them from the leading BMW tech at the local dealer. I have years and years of 928 experience, no real problems. I think the alleged electrical problems with those cars are way overblown if you buy a decent car. I certainly wouldn't criticize a 928 for electrical problems when discussing a BMW 850. That particular 928 will suck the headlights out of the other two cars on the twisty road.
My advice, as always, is to simply get out there and drive an example of each one and see which one floats your boat.
