My day to bump some old threads. We recently got a CHP ticket for tint on driver window, and that led me to dig into the front plate issue. Bottom line, CHP is getting very sticky on front plates, due I think to the camera's that read the plates automatically.
I think I'm back to looking for a tow hook plate holder again.
