You cannot prove it's a felon. It could even be a felon that was non violent crime and have their rights back. Plus felons know that if they got caught with a firearm, they're going away for a long time.
I find it kinda weird that you went to that specific no go. Mental status, drug user, ect are way better questions to ask someone before you sell them a spoon
