What a lot of people don't understand about Southern California is that it is actually a DESERT climate much like it's neighbors Baja and the Mojave that extends to the coast. It is extremely dry here.
I live 1.2 miles from the ocean and never had any kind of corrosion problems. It's nothing like the east coast or the gulf coast. There is zero humidity here.
It's quite simply the perfect climate for cars, and is much milder than Arizona so it's easy on paint and interiors.
