Here in CA we hunt in Tshirts this time of the year. And i often go for a late afternoon hunt and skip the morning.

Learned to shoot skeet and trap using a Remington 1100. Aside from being double the cost of the Mossberg, and a little softer recoil, I couldn't see any advantage. Could see quite a few disadvantages.... after all the military chose the Mossy 590a1 as the issue shotgun. The difference is the steel vs. aluminum receiver, length of mag tube, and position of barrel nut on the barrel (due to length of mag tube).
I've seen quite a few semi shooters w/ issues on the skeet fields - about a "friendly" environment as you are gonna get for a shotgun to be used in....
Of course, even faster for a second shot than the autos are the O/U and SxS doubles

- gotta say that I've seen a Weatherby O/U with a recoil-reset trigger "jam" when using light loads and bad reloads (ie, primer, half powder or primer and no powder)
