Well, the scissor lift can potentially do engine drops. For the rest (wheels, oil, valve adjsutments) it's the same.

Personally, I have a scissor lift currently (due to lack of headroom, after many years of 4 post) and..... I *hate* the damn thing. It requires ramps, which are ugly and cumbersome, it's very cramped to position the arms, said ramps are always in the way and kill garage space, it's hard to move, it's heavy heavy.... I'd give the quickjack a try as a do over. I don't really drop engines, so the convenience factor is better with something portable... depends on your goals !
