So Gary, FWIW my wife had to seek treatment at Duke when we were faced with a very serious medical challenge - different from Elissa's challenges. Fortunately, it worked out for us and my wife is healthy and happy today. The Duke experience was really good, but not without the occasional rough patch. As great as they are at Duke, you still need to advocate for yourselves and ask a lot of questions. Not EVERYONE at every station is a world class performer. Some are just regular clock-punchers. We have ZERO regrets about choosing Duke over our local hospital. We are both extremely glad we took on the travel challenge to get to Durham every other week (about a 3 hour drive each way) for 10 months. Small price to pay for my wife's continued health.
