I bought a 997S (yes, an S) for $34.5K. No way in hell I am paying $31K for any 996 unless it is a GT3 (which would be more than double that, of course)
My buddy bought a 996 five years ago and despite my recommendation to do the IMS, he did not. Well, we just got done swapping his engine out because it blew up. So, assume that a 996 will blow up.
